Haiti - Football : Everything you need to know about World Cup ticketing and the role of the FHF 08/07/2026 10:24:30
Following questions raised regarding ticketing for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the Haitian Football Federation (FHF) has published a clarification note detailing the official mechanisms put in place by FIFA and the Federation's precise role in this process. 1. Two separate ticketing mechanisms Tickets for fans : The first mechanism concerned tickets for the general public and fans of the National Team. These tickets were sold directly by FIFA through its official ticketing platform. In this system, the Haitian Football Federation was not involved in ticket sales, payment collection, or distribution. Its role was limited exclusively to validating official fan groups with FIFA, in accordance with the procedures established by the competition organizer. The tickets mentioned in certain publications, including those sold starting at USD 60, were exclusively part of this FIFA-managed system. All financial transactions were conducted directly between the buyers and FIFA. The Federation's Institutional Allocation : The second mechanism concerned the allocation of tickets reserved for participating member associations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. This allocation was managed according to a specific schedule of requests, allocations, and payments, and was limited to the official ticketing period of the competition, in accordance with FIFA's established procedures. These tickets were not a free allocation; they were acquired directly by the Federation from FIFA through the official ticketing program for participating member associations. This allocation was primarily intended to meet the needs related to the national delegation's participation, including those of players, staff members, club representatives, institutional partners, official guests, and other stakeholders in Haitian football. All operations related to this allocation (request, validation, invoicing, payment, and ticket issuance) were carried out according to the administrative procedures established by FIFA through its official ticketing portal. Each ticket allocated to the Federation was ordered, invoiced, paid for, and issued by FIFA, and all these operations were recorded in FIFA's official systems, guaranteeing complete traceability of each ticket acquired by the Federation. 2. A fully documented procedure : All tickets acquired by the Federation were subject to a rigorous and documented administrative process, including: ticket requests submitted to FIFA; allocation confirmations; invoices issued by FIFA; payments made by the Federation; ticket issuance by FIFA; and their allocation to the relevant beneficiaries. The Federation reiterates that it has not authorized any individual or legal entity to market World Cup tickets on its behalf outside of the official channels established by FIFA. 3. The Federation's Role : The Federation's role was solely to acquire, in accordance with FIFA's established procedures, the tickets intended for its football community and then distribute them to their beneficiaries. Once these tickets were duly distributed, the Federation had no material or legal means to control their individual use by their holders. Any subsequent use, transfer, or circulation of a ticket is the sole responsibility of its holder and cannot, in itself, be considered institutional involvement of the Federation. The Federation remains fully prepared to cooperate with FIFA or any other competent authority should specific, objective, and verifiable information require investigation. 4. Governance and Transparency : Since being placed under the authority of the Normalization Committee appointed by FIFA, the Haitian Football Federation has applied high standards of governance, transparency, and accountability. It is subject to several independent control mechanisms, including: periodic management and compliance audits conducted by independent firms mandated by FIFA; an annual financial audit performed by an independent external audit firm; and the regular publication of its financial statements in accordance with its transparency commitments.
