Haiti - Economy : Signing of an agreement for innovative and job-creating entrepreneurship

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MCI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding earlier this week at the Avenir Foundation offices in Delmas 83 with the Higher School of Infotronics of Haiti (ESIH) and the Avenir Foundation, on the occasion of the official launch of AyitiLAB.

This initiative aims to promote innovative, job-creating ideas capable of generating a positive impact on the national economy.

In his address, James Monazard, the Minister of Commerce and Industry, emphasized that this agreement represents a collective commitment and a concrete response to the challenges of innovation and entrepreneurship in Haiti, one of the Ministry's priorities.

"We are convinced that the country's economic transformation necessarily depends on the ability of our young people to design, launch, and sustain value-creating businesses."

Monazard reaffirmed his Ministry's commitment to fully support the signatory partners in the implementation of this initiative.

For his part, Patrick Atié, Director of the Higher School of Infotronics of Haiti (ESIH), praised an initiative that will offer young people the opportunity to put their knowledge into practice, showcase their skills, and develop innovative projects that inspire hope and foster growth.

Etzer Émile, President of the Avenir Foundation, stated that this signing represents much more than a simple administrative document : it constitutes a promise made to Haitian youth. He also commended the partnership with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, which has been increasing its efforts to support youth entrepreneurship for several years.

During the ceremony, Japhé Mercier, the representative of AyitiLAB, presented the project's main features. According to him, the main challenge facing Haitian youth is not a lack of talent, but the absence of an environment capable of nurturing their potential, transforming innovations into concrete solutions, and ideas into sustainable businesses.
