Haiti - Moot Court Competition : Reopening of the supplementary registration list 22/06/2026 09:30:07
The Haitian Bureau of Human Rights (BDHH) is reopening the waiting list for the pre-selection of the 9th edition of the Human Rights Moot Court Competition, with the aim of holding the final rounds in July 2026 in Port-au-Prince. New candidates wishing to participate in the Competition can submit their applications until Friday, June 26, 2026, using the online form : https://forms.gle/bWwBjBoP89SHBfUB9 The Competition is open to law students who have completed at least three years of study at a university in the Republic of Haiti, and is also open to those who have graduated within the last three years, excluding those registered with the Bar Association. Candidates who have already submitted an application in previous rounds do not need to reapply. However, they are encouraged to contact the coordinating office to confirm their availability for the next stage of the process. Article 1: The Competition is open to law students who have completed at least three (3) years at one of the Universities of the Republic of Haiti, namely : • Students enrolled in their fourth year; • Students writing their thesis; • Students who graduated within the last three years, excluding those already enrolled in Bar School and/or who have already been sworn in as trainee lawyers. Article 2 : Students who participated in previous editions of the Competition are eligible to compete again, excluding those who participated in a final round (semi-finalists, finalists, and winners). Article 3 : The Competition takes place in two stages: the written pre-selection and the oral debates. Pre-selected students are invited to participate in the oral debates, which will be governed by separate rules. Article 4 : The registration deadline for the written pre-selection of the 9th edition, originally set for February 14, 2024, is extended until Friday, June 26, 2026, at 8:00 p.m., as part of the reopening of the supplementary list. Applications must be submitted using the online form at : https://forms.gle/bWwBjBoP89SHBfUB9 Article 5 : The written pre-selection focuses on the theme : "Climate Justice and Economic Development". Dissertations are selected by a jury based on the relevance of the text, the quality of the argumentation, knowledge of the law, and commitment to human rights. Article 6 : The dissertation must be written in 12-point New Roman font, single-spaced, and no more than 3 pages long. Any length exceeding this limit will be considered a negative factor. The file must be saved in .word or .pdf format and named "CONCOURS9_LASTNAME_FIRSTNAME". Article 7 : A document attesting to the candidate's qualifications must be included in the application. This may be, depending on the case: • A certificate of completion or a transcript of grades from the 3rd year; • A certificate of enrollment in the 4th year; • A certificate of completion or a transcript of grades from the 4th year; • A report of the thesis defense; • A law degree. Article 8 : Any incomplete application or application submitted after the deadline will not be considered. Article 9 : Applicants will receive an automatic email confirmation acknowledging receipt of their application.
