The 2026 FIFA World Cup kicks off on June 11, 2026. Haiti is preparing to participate for the second time in the world's biggest football competition, after an absence of nearly 52 years. The 52-year gap between Haiti's first (1974) and second (2026) FIFA World Cup appearances is the fourth longest in the competition's history, tied with Wales (64 years between 1958 and 2022), Egypt (56 years between 1934 and 1990), and Norway (56 years between 1938 and 1994). Group and Schedule : Haiti is in Group C with Brazil, Morocco, and Scotland, known as the "Group of Death" due to its formidable opponents. Haiti vs. Scotland : Saturday, June 13, 2026, 9:00 p.m. (US/Haiti time) at Gillette Stadium, Boston, USA; Brazil vs. Haiti : Friday, June 19, 2026, 9:00 p.m. (US/Haiti time) at Lincoln Financial Field, Philadelphia, USA; Morocco vs. Haiti : Wednesday, June 24, 2026, 6:00 p.m. (US/Haiti time) at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Atlanta, USA. Our Grenadiers will face Brazil, five-time world champions and favorites in the group. Morocco, a semi-finalist at the last World Cup and currently the best African team, and Scotland, a European team renowned for its robustness and physical style of play. Coach Profile : Sébastien Migné will lead the Haitian national team in its first FIFA World Cup as head coach. The 53-year-old Frenchman took over the team in June 2024 and led Haiti to its first FIFA World Cup appearance in over fifty years. Sébastien Migné will be Haiti's second coach at the FIFA World Cup after Antoine Tassy, and the first non-Haitian (Frenchman). Key Players : Johny Placide : Captain of Haiti, he is also the most experienced player in the 26-man squad. Since his debut with the national team in 2011, Placide has played in three CONCACAF Gold Cups, including the historic 2019 semi-final. Ricardo Adé : With over 50 selections, this 36-year-old center-back brings his leadership and experience to the heart of the Haitian defense. Duckens Nazon : Haiti's all-time leading scorer, he has netted 44 goals in 76 appearances and will be looking to continue his climb towards the 50-goal mark. Decisive Player : Frantzdy Pierrot : A proven goalscorer, Pierrot has played a pivotal role in Haiti's successes in the Nations League and during World Cup qualifying. Born in Haiti and raised in the United States, he is about to return to his roots in Haiti's opening World Cup match against Scotland in Boston. Rising Star : Carl Sainté (23 years old) : enters the World Cup as one of Haiti's most influential young midfielders. This player has become a pillar of the national team, earning 26 caps and contributing to Haiti's historic qualification. Statistical Overview : Haiti is participating in its second FIFA World Cup, its first since the 1974 edition. During its participation (3 losses), Haiti conceded 14 goals in three group matches and scored 2 goals (by Emmanuel Sanon, aka "Manno"). June 15, 1974: Italy vs. Haiti [3-1]; June 19, 1974: Haiti vs. Poland [0-7]; and June 23, 1974: Argentina vs. Haiti [4-1]. A Historic Journey Before the Tournament : Haiti's return to the FIFA World Cup is one of the most compelling storylines of the 2026 edition. Haiti's return to the World Cup was built on the emergence of a core group of talented players, combined with the leadership of veterans such as Johny Placide, Ricardo Adé, Duckens Nazon, and Frantzdy Pierrot.
