FLASH Sunrise Airways New direct route between Cap-Haitien and Newark

Haitian airline Sunrise Airways will inaugurate its new direct route between Cap-Haitien (CAP) and Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) on June 1, 2026, strengthening air connectivity between Northern Haiti and the New York/New Jersey metropolitan area.

"With this direct route between Cap-Haïtien and Newark, Sunrise Airways is strengthening a vital link between Northern Haiti and one of the largest Haitian communities in the United States. We are proud to offer the diaspora a simpler and more direct connection to Haiti," said Gary Stone, CEO of Sunrise Airways.

Located near New York and New Jersey, Newark Liberty International Airport offers convenient access to Manhattan, several neighboring cities, and the region’s major transportation networks. For travelers in the diaspora, this new option makes it easier to reach Northern Haiti without having to connect through Florida or other hubs.

This new CAP–EWR–CAP route is part of Sunrise Airways' strategy to connect Haiti with its diaspora in North America, while supporting the economic, tourism, and commercial development of Cap-Haïtien and the northern region of the country.

Direct flights on Airbus A320 aircraft between Cap-Haïtien and Newark will have an estimated flight time of approximately 3 hours and 45 minutes. The service will operate once a week, according to the following schedule:

Cap-Haitien ==> Newark : every Monday

Newark <== Cap-Haitien : every Tuesday

Bookings are available at www.sunriseairways.net, via the Sunrise Airways mobile app, through customer service, and at Sunrise Airways sales outlets.
