Training project in Haiti targeting 5,000 young people from high-risk neighborhoods

On Thursday, April 23, 2026, an important bilateral cooperation meeting between Haiti and Brazil took place, bringing together technical experts from the Ministry of Youth, Sports, and Civic Action (MJSAC), Viva Rio, and the Brazil-Haiti Cultural Center.

This meeting, centered on the presentation of priority projects aimed at strengthening the capacities of Haitian youth, is of highly strategic importance to the three institutions.

At the heart of the discussions, the MJSAC presented an ambitious mass training project targeting 5,000 young people from several high-risk neighborhoods, in order to offer concrete alternatives to the recruitment of children and young people by armed groups. This project is part of a prevention, mentoring, and socio-community integration approach.

The discussions identified priority intervention areas, including the Solino and Fort-Jacques neighborhoods, considered to be areas requiring particular attention in terms of youth development.

Furthermore, the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Civic Action (MJSAC) proposed a major project to its partners entitled "Sport Vision 2030". Focused on developing sports infrastructure and training young talents from inter-school championships, this project represents a significant opportunity to identify, mentor, and promote a new generation of young Haitian athletes.
