On Saturday, March 29, 2026, amidst volatile international oil prices, Serge Gabriel Collin, Minister of Economy and Finance, officially established the Advisory Council tasked with determining the pricing mechanisms for petroleum products at the Prime Minister's Office.

Composed of representatives from the government, labor unions, and the oil industry, this council brings together nine individuals who will play a consultative role.

Members :

- Montès Joseph, Jacques Anderson Desroches, and Méhu Changeux (Labor Unions);

- Vladimyr Monval, Steeve Polycarpe, and Jean Nerva Siméon (Government Representatives);

- Mildred Noisy, David Turnier, and Jean Jackson Marseille (Representatives of Oil Companies and Distribution Associations).

This Council is tasked with monitoring the implementation of pricing mechanisms, assessing product quality and compliance, and formulating recommendations to strengthen governance of the petroleum market. It will submit regular reports to the relevant authorities.

The new pricing structure will incorporate import costs, taxes and customs duties, logistics costs, and operator margins, in a spirit of transparency and stability.

In their remarks, Minister Serge Gabriel Collin and Minister of Social Affairs Marc-Élie Nelson reaffirmed the Government's commitment to protecting vulnerable populations and supporting affected sectors, particularly in the context of the humanitarian crisis.
