Analysis of the Provisional Electoral Council's Budget

The Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) has submitted its budget for the upcoming elections to the Government. A new feature is the interconnection of at least 10 departmental tabulation centers, enabling the publication of reliable results within 72 hours of the polls closing.

Ban on Flights to Haiti Extended

On March 2, 2026, the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) issued NOTAM (Notice to Pilots) KICZ A0024/26, prohibiting U.S. airlines, FAA-certified pilots, and U.S.-registered aircraft from operating in certain areas of Haitian airspace, particularly around Port-au-Prince, below 10,000 feet until September 3rd, 2026. Black Mountain Road Closed to Six-Wheeled Trucks

The Pétion-ville city hall has formally prohibited six-wheeled trucks (heavy goods vehicles equipped with three axles, generally one at the front and two at the rear) transporting materials from using the Black Mountain Road. Anyone who violates this prohibition is subject to a fine of 250,000 gourdes.

School Risk Management Workshop

The Ministry of National Education and the Civil Protection Directorate are launching a strategic workshop on school risk management and the official relaunch of the Education and Public Awareness Thematic Committee (CTESP). Protecting students and staff from growing risks is a national priority. Securing schools and strengthening community resilience involves sharing information, defining national priorities, coordinating actions, and harmonizing interventions among stakeholders.
