17 EDH Technicians Kidnapped

On Monday, armed individuals from the "Tibwa" gang, led by Chief Christ-Roi Chéry, alias "Krisla" intercepted a pickup truck belonging to Électricité d'Haïti (EDH) on a service call. The 17 technicians were kidnapped. "Krisla" claimed responsibility for the kidnapping, demanding uninterrupted electricity in his territory.

Haitian Rapper "Fantom" Arrested in the Dominican Republic

On Sunday, December 7, agents from the General Directorate of Migration (DGM) arrested Haitian rapper Daniel Darinus, alias "Fantom" a prominent figure in Haitian Creole rap and a member of the group "Barikad Crew" reportedly for irregularities in his immigration status, according to initial reports. Dominican authorities have not released any details regarding the reasons for the arrest.

ULCC Accuses Michel Martelly

The Anti-Corruption Unit (ULCC) accuses former Haitian President Michel Martelly, also known as "Sweet Micky" of late and false asset declarations, omissions, blatant inconsistencies, and suspected falsification. His wife, Sophia Saint-Rémy Martelly, and his son, Olivier Martelly, both presidential advisors, also failed to meet legal deadlines. The investigation reveals irregularities in his declarations upon entering and leaving office between May 14, 2011, and February 7, 2016, including more than a dozen undeclared bank accounts and unjustified income. Beyond banking issues, the investigation uncovers omissions related to real estate and vehicles belonging to Martelly. The ULCC recommends criminal prosecution for false asset declarations.

Serious road accident in Les Cayes
