Haiti - FLASH : «Barbecue» authorizes the return of the population to 4 neighborhoods of the capital (video)

On Wednesday, August 27, 2025, terrorist Jimmy Chérizier, alias "Barbecue" leader of the "Viv Ansanm" criminal gang coalition, whose head is under a $5 million reward from the United States https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-45540-haiti-flash-barbecue-indicted-in-the-usa-reward-of-up-to-$5-million.html , announced in a video posted on social media that he would order the complete withdrawal of his men from certain neighborhoods in the center of the capital, Port-au-Prínce, to allow displaced residents to return home.

In a video posted on social media, "Barbecue" announced that before the end of August, his men would leave the neighborhoods of Delmas 30, Solino, Christ Roi, and Nazon, allowing for the gradual return of displaced families. He added that he would use this withdrawal to "prepare new strategies to fight" against the Haitian authorities.

"I am finalizing the steps to ensure that, before the end of August, 'Viv Ansanm' withdraws from Delmas 30, Solino, Christ Roi, and Nazon, so that everyone can return home to these areas."

Some observers believe that "Barbecue" is taking this step because it needs human shields, given the Haitian National Police's (PNH) announcement of an intensification of operations in the coming days.
