Haiti - Security : More information on the Mission of the American military plane of May 3rd

We know more about the American military plane which landed Friday May 3rd, 2024 https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-42262-haiti-news-zapping.html at Toussaint Louverture International Airport.

The plane was carrying civilian contractors who are coming to help erect the installations of the base where the multinational security support mission will reside, coming to assist the Haitian National Police in their fight against armed criminal gangs which control practically 80% of the Port-au-Prince and many other points in the country.

Should be noted that this construction of these facilities benefits from the support of the Pentagon.

Undersecretary of State Todd Robinson confirmed the arrival of these teams as a prelude to the Mission whose deployment will begin more or less around May 23, 2024, https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-42250-haiti-security-the-first-kenyan-troops-land-on-may-26-2024-in-haiti.html during the visit of the President of Kenya, William Ruto, to the White House.

The American Department of Defense recalls that it has committed some $200 million in security materials and equipment to defend the Mission's position.
