Haiti - Diaspora : Investment opportunities with Haitian SMEs

Thursday, January 29, 2024 in Miami (Florida), the Haiti INVEST platform of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), in partnership with the "Reach" project of USAID-Haiti, and the Haitian-American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham Haiti), kicked off the 3-day Conference "Connect, Partner and Invest for Economic Recovery and Development" to discuss investment opportunities with Haitian small and medium business owners .

Established by the National Alliance for the Advancement of Haitian Professionals (NAAHP), this conference highlighted investment opportunities in high-growth Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) that operate in key sectors such as agriculture, renewable energy, and financial inclusion.

"Private sector engagement continues to generate promising opportunities to rebuild and strengthen the Haitian economy despite persistent insecurity. We are excited to showcase some of these viable investment opportunities available in Haiti," said Jennifer Link, USAID Haiti Mission Director.

"We cannot rebuild Haiti alone, but together, forming a convergent ecosystem, we can achieve real impacts," said Suze François of the NAAHP. One of the key elements of this event is to involve members of the Diaspora who are actively seeking to invest in their home country adding "Our Diaspora actors are committed to supporting Haiti through philanthropy and entrepreneurship social. This conference is the ideal setting to connect stakeholders with like-minded investors and high-potential companies."

"We are proud of Haiti INVEST's contribution to creating a network of experienced transaction advisors, attentive to the complex needs of Haitian businesses, particularly emerging SMEs," said Ms. Ericka Rosenthal, Executive Director of AmCham Haiti.
