Justice : The Council of Ministers authorizes the hearing of the PM

The Council of Ministers authorized Prime Minister a.i. Ariel Henry as well as the ministers and Directors General cited in the three orders of Investigating Judge Walter Wesser Voltaire in the case on the assassination of President Jovenel Moïse to respond to Judge Voltaire's invitations. An essential authorization for an investigating judge to be able to question a senior state official. A historic first for a Prime Minister. To be continued...

Sexual and reproductive health training

Thanks to funding from the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA-Haiti), the Haitian Youth Observatory (OJH) carried out training on the theme "Early pregnancies among adolescents and use of family planning methods" in benefits of young leaders : teachers, journalists, leaders of organizations and young religious people from Thomonde, Hinche and Cerca-la-Source.

Failed bac : Start of corrections

Thursday, December 21, 2023, the exams for the first session of those who failed the permanent baccalaureate for the 2023-2024 academic year ended after having started on Monday throughout the territory where more than 35,000 candidates took part in these tests. COP28 : Positive gains for Haiti

Thursday, December 21st, 2023 at a press conference, James Cadet the Minister of the Environment presented the results of Haiti's participation in the 28th Conference of the Parties on climate change (COP28) which took place in Dubai. Thanks to the dynamism of the Haitian delegation, Haiti obtained a place on the Board of Directors of the Loss and Damage Fund, a place on the Advisory Council of the Santiago Network and a place on the Compliance Committee of the Kyoto Protocol. Release of 82 detainees

Me Edler Guillaume, the Government Commissioner of Port-au-Prince, this week released 82 detainees incarcerated for several years at the national penitentiary for minor offenses without ever having been tried or sentenced. In 3 days, the Chief Prosecutor of Port-au-Prince worked to decongest the largest prison in the country, which has a prison population of 3,778 inmates.

French Institute of Haiti closed
