Haiti - FLASH : The dangerous gang leader «Ti Makak» killed by the police

Monday, April 14, 2023 at a press conference, Divisional Inspector Garry Desrosiers, Spokesperson for the National Police of Haiti (PNH) confirmed that the dangerous gang leader Carlo Petit-Homme alias "Ti Makak" who operated in Laboule in the heights of Pétion-ville, had been fatally injured during an anti-gang police operation in Thomassin and had not survived his injuries, according to the police intelligence service.

During this operation, several of his accomplices were killed, hostages were released, 6 assault rifles were seized as well as communication radios, 30 vehicles including 7 motorcycles...

Asked if the police could confirm the dismantling of the "ti Makak" gang, Garry Desrosiers replied "[...] The police do not have the capacity to consolidate the space to prevent bandits from coming back [...] We are doing our best to mark our presence in this area to prevent this space from being handed over to gangs. The police continue to carry out operations in the area with the objective of dismantling this gang and all the gangs scattered in the metropolitan area."
