Haiti - Education : Attacks against the Lycée Marie Jeanne and the Lycée des Jeunes Filles

The Ministry of National Education and Vocational Training (MENFP) denounces and condemns the acts of several dishonest individuals who came to disrupt the operation in front of and within the premises of the Lycée Marie Jeanne and the Lycée des Jeunes Filles, in Port-au- Prince, yesterday Monday, March 13.

Among these individuals, some wore high school uniforms, while others had hoods on their heads and armbands. They broke the doors, broke the windows of several cars, lowered the flags and threatened to close these 2 high schools.

It was thanks to the intervention of the police that more damage did not occur.

The Ministry denounces and condemns these actions of individuals and asks all actors, partners and citizens to continue to join hands to defend the rights of children to life and education of children's rights, and to protect the schools.

The MENFP continues to say that there is no future without education, there is no country. The school is the greatest tool to save this society and the children.
