Haiti - FLASH : Online passport application very soon

Monday July 4th, 2022 at a Liszt Quitel press conference, the Minister of the Interior and Local Authorities announced that passport applicants will be able to apply online during the month of July by filling out a form via the Ministry's website https://immigration.mict.gouv.ht However, it did not specify a precise entry into function of this service which to date is not yet in operation and which it will be necessary to monitor this website periodically to know the implementation operation of this service.

According to Quitel, this new online service will allow Haiti to enter the digital age and will meet international standards.

He explained that after completing the passport application form, the system will generate a code, which the applicant will only need to bring to the immigration office and will only have to register their biometric fingerprints and their digital photo to complete the process.

In addition, to ease the congestion of passport delivery services for compatriots living abroad, the Minister explained that a new personalization unit has been set up at the central office of the Directorate of Immigration and Emigration in order to help Washington, overwhelmed by demand and ensure that the delays will be filled by mid-July... which seems a little optimistic if we take the case of Chile where more than 30,000 requests are outstanding...
