Haiti - FLASH : Haitians attack a Dominican soldier...

On Wednesday in the municipality of Vallejuelo, San Juan de la Maguanades, Haitians attacked a soldier, steal his rifle before fleeing by motorcycle.

In their rushed escape they fatally collided with a young Dominican boy before resuming their escape. Informed of the situation, the police stationed in the area immediately deployed a search operation. The police quickly located the fugitives and made their arrests. The police recovered the weapon stolen from the soldier and seized a gun in the possession of the Haitians

The death of the child José David Montero Mora, son of Julito Montero, residing in the municipal district of Jorgillo has caused anger and indignation in Vallejuelo and in neighboring towns. An incident in Vallejuelo which constitutes an element of further concern and tension among the population in the face of the increase in illegal Haitians who manage to cross the border despite the presence of the military.

According to official figures the crimes and misdemeanors committed by Haitians in an irregular migratory situation have increased alarmingly with more than 2,000 Haitians incarcerated in Dominican prisons, most of them in the penitentiary of La Victoria, accused of multiple violations of the laws, mainly of homicides and assaults with firearms, not to mention hundreds of cases of violations of the law and those fleeing to Haiti for more serious crimes which makes it difficult to locate them and bring them to justice.
