Haiti - NEWS FLASH : The road towards Malpasse partially flooded

The Etang Saumâtre [Lack Azuéi], knows for the past two years an abnormally high level, a situation that worsens during the rainy season, as is the case this week. The Torrential rains in recent days on the Haitian-Dominican border area of Malpasse, have greatly increased the level of the Etang Saumâtre causing flooding in some places.

Some sections of the road between Fond Parisien and the border Malpasse/Jimani are real quagmires or are partially flooded, making the movement dangerous, see unworkable.

The inhabitants of the region are very concerned about the risk of total paralysis of all activity. For many, it is anomalous that the traffic on this important commercial road, binational, which bring millions of dollars to the state, is done in such deplorable conditions.

Recently constructed buildings on the Haitian side whose the customs are seriously affected by water. On the other side of the border, the Dominicans are not spared, the customs offices and Migration are flooded.
