The President Michel Martelly, accompanied by the First Lady and two of his advisers Laurent Lamothe and Michèle Oriol, yesterday attended the inauguration of the Model Project of the Ecole Nouvelle Zoranje at the Village Renaissance Orangers in the municipality of Croix-des-Bouquets.

Funded by Mr. Jonathan Jackson, the project is the work of the American Foundation Happy Hearts which was founded in 2005 and whose the mission is to improve the lives of children through educational programs sustainable.

The initiator of the project, Daniel Kedar, particularly wanted to welcome the presence of the Head of State in this ceremony on the occasion of his first day of work, An attitude which, according to Mr. Kedar, reflects the wishes of President Martelly to make of the education a major focus of his quinquennium. Specifying that this school is completely free from kindergarten through fifth years, Mr. Kedar was pleased that his project ever join the aspirations expressed by the Head of State to offer free education to the population.

For his part, the co-founder and president of the nongovernmental organization Happy Hearts, the Czech model Petra Nemcova, has expressed her willingness to expand this initiative in other regions. She took the opportunity to announce that this new school newly inaugurated will be given to the state. "Since my arrival, for the first time I saw the joy in people's eyes and it is thanks to you Mr. President." said Ms. Nemcova while highlighting the opportunity that this kindergarten will offer to these children for the future.

Michel martelly showed his admiration for the ingenuity of the project and thanked all those who contributed to its realization. Welcoming, also to have been able to take part personally to the event, Mr. Martelly believes that there are only dreams that can lead to reality. "When children are forsaken, it is the future of the country which is forsaken. Take over these children is to take in hand the country's future", stressed the Head of State which recalls that compulsory and free education remains his priority. He promises to be inspired by this experience, by reproducing it at the national level for the benefit of the children of Haiti.

Thanking the NGOs and foundations for their support, the President Martelly promises that the state will assume its responsibilities during his passage to the drawbars of public affairs.
