Haiti - Politic : The Government Bellerive has resigned

The Prime Minister, Jean-Max Bellerive, has handed to the President Préval, the eve of the inauguration of newly elected President of Haiti, Michel Martelly, the resignation of his government.

"I confirm that the Prime Minister has handed his resignation letter Friday evening to the President René Prévalé" declared Joseph Jasmin, Minister in charge of relations between the Executive and the Parliament, specifying that "all government ministers have resigned but that they continue to work until the new government is installed "The State continues to work under the terms of the Constitution. Before leaving, President Préval recommended us to closely monitor, the transfer of files to the new government."

In his resignation letter to the members of Government, the Prime Minister Bellerive explains "I handed the resignation of the government that I had the privilege of leading to the head of state René Préval. I would regret by putting an end to our mission to not express my satisfaction for the work accomplished [...] In a arid environment, you have managed to assume your part of the burden in this collective enterprise of refoundation of the country [...] Under the Constitution, I ask you to continue to ensure the affairs of State until the moment where you will have to to give the office to your successor."

The way is now open to the President Michel Martelly, to announce his choice for the new Prime Minister.
