Haiti - Diplomacy : The Chargé d'Affaires of the Embassy of Haiti on tour in North-East Argentina

Gustavo Martínez, President of Resistencia City Council (Capital of Chaco Province, Department of San Fernando), received Dr. Guy Metayer, acting Chargé d'Affaires of the Embassy of the Republic of Haiti in Buenos Aires (Argentina) touring northeastern Argentina.

During the meeting, the two men discussed bilateral issues in trade and culture, and discussed the possibility of twinning a Haitian city with Resistencia, which would involve different types of collaboration between the two municipalities.

During his visit, Metayer said, "We have several goals. One of them is to discuss with the provincial authorities of Corrientes (Capital of the Province of the same name) and Chaco to study the possibility of creating a Chamber of Commerce between the businessmen of these two provinces and Haitians, because there is a market for companies from both countries."

At the end of this meeting, Metayer was very satisfied "It was a very productive and interesting meeting. For us, it is fundamental because we have Haitians living in this city. It is a very dynamic community and we came as representatives of the Embassy with the mission to contribute to the development of the community, also seeking to help them to obtain the legal status of a civil association in the city [...] Something that matters a lot to me and my country."
