Haiti - Politic : Launch of the caravan «OAVCT Lakay ou»

Friday in Léogâne, the Office of Insurance against Vehicles Third Party (OAVCT) launched the caravan "OAVCT Lakay ou", intended to bring all the services of the Office to citizens living outside major cities.

Drivers and owners of motor vehicles can now obtain or renew their insurance policy in Léogâne without having to go to another city thanks to the "OAVCT Lakay ou" caravan, a fully equipped truck operated by employees of the institution that will go through the 146 communes of the country.

Fritzner Bernadel, the Director General of the Office explained "Our mobile unit will travel all of our cities to register and regularize the situation of owners and drivers of motor vehicles using public roads, including motorcycles, which are not not covered by an insurance policy," announcing the opening soon of a regional office of the OAVCT in the city.

As part of the launch, City Deputy Jean Wilson Hyppolite offered to pay for the first 100 registered insurance policy, while several drivers and owners lined up in front of the truck to obtain or renew their policy well before the end of the launching ceremony.
