Haiti - Politic : Michaëlle Jean calls for dialogue and restraint
Michaëlle Jean, the Secretary General of the International Organization of the Francophonie (OIF), following with the greatest attention the developments in Haiti appealed for restraint to all political actors "The stability of the transitional institutions is necessary for the resumption and conclusion of the electoral process. I urge all stakeholders to promote dialogue and a peaceful environment in all circumstances. The holding of elections, in compliance with the rule of law and democracy is crucial to the revival of the country to which legitimately aspires the Haitian people."
The Secretary General recalled that the OIF, in collaboration with its international partners, will continue its support to the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) for the holding of free, democratic, inclusive and reliable elections.
