Responding to the call of the groupings of political opposition parties, including the "Patriotic Movement of the Democratic Opposition" (MOPOD), the "Patriotic Force for the Respect of the Constitution" (FOPARC), the "Organization Tèt ansanm" (OTAN) and popular organizations close to Fanmi Lavalas, an anti-government demonstration less mobilizing than that of September 30 left from the Church of Our Lady of Perpetual Help and traveled several popular neighborhoods, with as the final destination Petionville.

Equipped with tree branches and placards with slogans against the government, the tension rose sharply on the course, which had been modified the day before by the National Police, to avoid confrontation between opponents and supporters of the government.

Despite the prohibited from entering Petionville, demonstrators, Senator Moïse at the head, tried repeatedly to ignore the ban and police roadblocks. After trying to push "peacefully" the assaults of protesters at the level of Delmas 30, the forces have had to use tear gas and water cannon, to reach the very disperse angry protesters, who responded by throwing stones. Senator Moïse, determined to accompany the protesters until Petionville finally had to seek refuge in a club in Delmas 33, strongly overcome by tear gas.

Over a ten demonstrators were arrested by the National Police of Haiti and several slightly injured, were rushed to the hospital.

Following this event, the Senator Moïse Jean-Charles at a press conference, called on citizens to remain mobilized and give rendezvous for October 26, to demand again the departure of the team in power and better living conditions for the population.
