Haiti - Politic : Prime Minister Lamothe in New York

Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe left the country Saturday morning to travel to New York, within the framework of the 69th session of the UN General Assembly to be held from September 22 to 26, where he will participate in important activities during which he will discuss in particular the major projects of national development, of the reconstruction policy, educational and administrative governance, engaged by his government.

Monday, Laurent Lamothe will intervene at the opening of the plenary session of the General Assembly of the United Nations to be attended by, among others also, Hillary Clinton, the former American Secretary of State, Jim Yonk Kim, President of the World Bank and Ginni Rometty CEO and President of IBM Global Group. In the evening the Head of Government will participate in the award ceremony of the World Citizen of the Clinton Foundation. On the sidelines he will meet with the Ambassador of Suriname Harvey Naarendorp.

On Tuesday, the Prime Minister will give interviews to various media such as: TV5 Monde, the Voice of America, the New York Times to name a few.

On Wednesday he will have a working lunch with former British Prime Minister Tony Blair and Thursday a bilateral meeting with the President of Ghana John Dramani.

During the visit, the Head of Government, will also visit the Haitian community in New York.

It should ne noted that for this displacement, the Prime Minister Lamothe refused admission to business class from the ticket purchase and the services offered to him by the diplomatic lounge of the airport Toussaint Louverture. He decided, like other travelers, queuing normally and follow all procedures until it is on board. The Prime Minister says he wants to "travel like everyone else, like a ordinary citizen."
