Friday Mgr Kenel Alphonse celebrated the traditional Mass marking the Patronal feast of Petit-Goâve, Our Lady of the Assumption in the presence of many pilgrims from everywhere, of a plethora of priests, politicians, parliamentarians whose deputy Stevenson Jacques Thimoléon, President of the Lower Chamber and the Mayor of the city, Sandra Jules among others.

Mgr Kenel Alphonse stressed in particular that the celebration of Our Lady of Assumption was "an opportunity to make decisions, to work now for the country's transformation, of the Haitian society. Everything is still possible in Haiti. The fatalistic mind is to ban [...] We still have a ways to go and we must all work to help build a more just and harmonious society."

After the Mass, the authorities of Petit Goâve, with special guests, went to the Fort Royal Hotel for a reception that was the occasion of several presentations and announcements.

In her speech, Mrs. Sandra Jules, expressed her gratitude to the authorities "Our expression of gratitude is for the President of the Republic, the Prime Minister, the President of the House of Representatives who have realized for the benefit of the population of works that make his pride and inaugurate tomorrow better for all, especially for the most disadvantaged [...] among these achievements include, among other customs and the port that are already a source of income [...] Now, heads of families look to the future with greater serenity [...]"

The engineer of the City presented the work done by the Town Hall and the Government in conjunction with the Office of the Deputy Thimoléon and announced other projects, including the construction of the Lycée Roseline Vaval of Vialet, whose the laying of the first stone was laid on Thursday, the construction of roads in the communal sections (section of palmes, 6th and 7th sections) and irrigation of the second Plaine...

A representative of the NGO "German Agro Action" (AAA) presented the development plan for the city center and suburbs of the city whose some of these construction projects will soon be completed.

The Deputy Thimoléon, took the opportunity to thank the population "It's perhaps my last formal speech as a deputy, I thank all those who supported me during my tenure as well as grassroots organizations, which are always held at my side and helped me get the job done," announcing optimistic that the dream of the people of Petit-Goâve, namely the creation of the Department of Palmes will become a reality "After the adoption by the House of Deputies of Articles on the draft law on the creation of this new department, the bill will be forwarded to the Senate [...]"
