Haiti - Social : Forced closing of the Town Hall of Petit-Goâve

Tuesday, June 3, 2014, employees of the waste disposal service, supported by other category of municipal employees, closed the doors of the Town Hall of Petit Goâve to force managers to pay them arrears of six months salary.

"The town hall own us 6 months pay, we ask Mayor Sandra Jules, to make the necessary [...] We do not start again to work as the accountant will have pay us our salary arrears. It is us, the workers, who pick up, daily, waste of all kinds on the public roads," said an angry employee

Following these claims, the accountant of the Town Mr. Hervé and the Deputy Mayor Domingo Simprix gave assurances that, shortly, the employees would be paid and asked them to be patient...

After 6 months without pay, dare ask these employees to be patient is at least inappropriate.
