Friday, 48 hours bedore Mother's Day (Sunday, May 25), President Michel Martelly, commemorated the two year of existence of « Ti Manman Cheri » social program at Omnisport Centre Henfrasa in Delmas 33, in the presence of Prime Minister, Laurent Lamothe, members of the Government and a large crowd of beneficiary mothers.

This welfare program implemented in May 2012 https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-5750-haiti-social-official-launch-of-the-program-ti-manman-cheri.html by the Haitian Government, is designed to help mothers who live in extreme poverty, to financially support their families each month and invest in the education of their children.

"Ti Manman Cheri" also aims to :

• Supporter les familles nécessiteuses ;

• Improve human ability of future generations ;

• Inject liquidity into the local economy ;

• Keep children in school;

• Increase the rate of attendance of children in school, ie 80% of class attendance and 20% of justified absence.

Recall that "Ti manman cheri", funded from the Petrocaribe funds, allowed 103,787 mothers [figure as of April 2014], with children in school, to receive regularly each month, between 400 and 800 gourdes. These moms are from 771 schools distributed in 103 communes across the 10 departments of the country. "Ti manman cheri" is a sub program of National Programme of social assistance "Ede Pèp".
