This visit confirm the statement of the Head of Government who had committed, Monday, January 13 to strengthen relations between the authorities and institutions of the State, so that the legislative year 2014 is at the height to the challenges faced by the Nation... The Head of Government is committed to maintain harmonious relations with Parliament.

At the end of the meeting, the Prime Minister Lamothe and President Timoléon, agreed on the need to work together on a strong legislative agenda that addresses the concerns of the Haitian people. They also agreed to find ways and means to liquidate the bills pending in Parliament. In this sense, they mainly refers to the Law on the National Fund for Education (FNE), which would allow finally to use the funds for education. Remember that this law was ratified by the lower house in August 2012 after changes [13 months after the creation of the FNE] and transmitted to the Senate for ratification in the same terms. More than 2 1/2 years after the creation of FNE, the law has still not ratified by the upper house...

Note that this Tuesday, Jan. 21 Stevenson Jacques Timoléon has to preside his first session since his arrival at the head of the office of the Lower House, this session will focus on the registration of political blocs in view of the next election, while the formation of the Standing Committees https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-10339-haiti-politic-the-psp-tightens-its-grip-on-the-lower-house.html will take place tomorrow Wednesday.
